We participated in the Relay for Life this year in honor of my Dad and all of our loved ones who have battled, are still battling or have passed on. It was such an amazing event, and I can't wait until next year. It began on Friday June 25th at 6pm and went until Saturday June 26 at 8am. Since cancer never sleeps, the relay was to have at least one person on your team walking the track at ALL times... We had such a good time with everyone, and had so many people participate. I think we had over 100 people show up. There were always people on the track walking and everytime you would take a lap our team would cheer you on. It was just awesome. There are no words to describe what I felt that night.... It was as HONOR to be walking for those we love.. especially this special man.. my Daddy!
Our goal this year was $1,280.00 which represents 1/28/10 for the day my Dad became cancer-free. We surpassed that goal and have raised over $2,800 and are still raising funds until August. This year we auctioned off an autographed football from the 2010 Miami Dolphins, 2010 Cinncinnati Bengals, Ravens football autographed by Haloti Ngata as well as his 2010 Pro Bowl player watch. We also had a 2010 autographed ball from the University of Utah, the 2010 team gear from BYU and a BYU helmet autographed by Bronco Mendenhall. We had 2 golf gift baskets which included 2 rounds of 18 holes with cart for Thanksgiving Point and The Ranches and some Calloway gear. All of the items were donated from our friends and we are forever grateful for that.. We made about $1000 off of the items and are already working on next years booth.

On behalf of my family.. thank you to all who donated your time, money, items, etc for this cause.. My prayer is to find a cure for this disease so we never lose another birthday to cancer...

(PS. We are fundraising until August and then we are starting our fundraising for next year... $10,000 is our goal for 2011)
