St. Louis

Taken from Ray's phone

Ray comes home Thursday! YAY!!! He's had the opportunity to fly home twice during OTA's (Optional Team Activities) since mid-May. How nice it was to be able to break up the 7 weeks.

This past week, it's been rookies only. He's really enjoyed himself, last week team practices finished and veterans were able to go home and the rookies stayed back to do rookie lifts and running. The joys of being at the bottom of the totem pole again :)

However, it hasn't been "all work and no play". Ray is loving it out there in St. Louis, he loves his coaches and teammates and has become fairly close with his roommate Roger Allen who he admires a lot!

This past week, the team went to rebuild East St. Louis Playground. You can read the entire article here as well as watch a video. You can see Ray a few times hauling playground equipment and mulch :) He said he really enjoyed the day spending time with the kids.

He also had the opportunity to go to tour Scott Air Force Base. He was pretty stoked about the 10 stretch Escalades and police escort, LOL.

Fighter jet, gotta love the camera phones. I wish he took a camera with him.

How grateful these NFL players are to be able to wake up and play football for a living. They also did a little camp for the military families on base as well, Ray had SOOO much fun and it was the first time he called me and said " I had such a great day today and I had so much fun" since he's been gone.

It's fun things like this that makes being in his profession awesome! They're able to give back to the community, experience tons of different aspects of life, and most the time, it's a 'treat' for those who get to meet NFL players, but Ray says he's definitely the one that's blessed and lucky to be where he is and meeting the examples of great people that he gets to meet.

Way to go Rams!!! I'm always so happy when Ray gets to participate in neat events like this. I can't wait to join him!! :)
