ER Visit

The other night I was in pretty bad shape.
For 3 days, I hadn't really eaten anything and the little I had didn't stay down. Nothing really different, but I could tell I was not getting any better.
I was seriously sleeping 15 hours a day, it was the only time I felt semi-decent.

My legs were cramping really bad, my toes were turning blue and I was freezing! Not normal for me because I am HOT constantly and um, it's 90 degrees here right now. I had massive headaches and would just cry and cry. Nothing I did, or Ray did would help. I knew I was dehydrated, so we got ready and headed to the ER.

Paul and Tasha were great and came and picked up Toa to watch him for the night!

We got checked in and let me tell ya, hospitals here are extremely different from little ol' Utah. It was like a scene from a movie. Every room in ER was full and around the hallway are letters and below each letter is a bed. Lucky me, I got to be in the hallway wedged between 2 people, no privacy, nothing. We seriously had to laugh a little.
(This was the view from my bed. There was another patient behind me.. in the middle of the hallway. To the left is rooms, with curtains)
(This was the view to my left, of another patient. She was this cute little old lady who thought Ray was her nurse and kept screaming at him to get her blankets and food. Very entertaining)

Sure enough I was extremely dehydrated. I also had an infection from being so dehydrated. Lovely.

They immediately started pumping me full of fluids and antibiotics as well as a medication for the nausea and I started feeling better fairly quickly.

To make sure everything was okay, they brought the doppler out to check the fetal heart rates.
3 nurses later, they couldn't find any heart beat other than mine. I started getting nervous, but know I'm still early and the babies are small. But still, I got a little nervous. They put in an order for an ultrasound and 2 hours later they came and got me.
(Here is me! hahaha.. This is what I looked like most of the time, I hated that people kept walking by and staring at me in the middle of the damn hall way, and the nurses station was so annoying. They were screaming and gossiping most of the time)

I loved my ultrasound tech. His name was Whim. Uncle Whim. I told him I was nervous before we started but he eased my nerves... as soon as he put the machine on my tummy, 2 little crazy jumping beans popped up with their hearts just a beating. I felt so much better. We got to watch them on screen for about half an hour while Whim measured everything. They had the exact same heart rate of 181 BPM and measured the exact same of 3.87cm. Twin A was bouncing around and waving its arms and kicking its legs and Twin B was just relaxing waiting for its turn to cause havoc :) I wish I would've gotten a print out of the ultrasound because they've grown so much and developed since the last ultrasound. They look like babies now and not just peanuts.

I'm so happy they are healthy.. I guess they are already sucking the life out of me! ;)
2 IV bags later, a failed doppler check, 2 prescriptions, 1 ultrasound, 7 hours later I was set FREE! :)

:( Hugs to you. So thankful the babies are healthy and those heartbeats are strong just like their momma.
