We were just heading to Ku'uipos for birthday cake.
Diaper bag.. check
Birthday card... check
Car keys... check
I put Toa in the backseat, shut the door and went to get in the drivers side.
Door... LOCKED
Keys... ON THE SEAT
Panic mode!! I ran inside the house and yelled to my Mom (it's her car) that the baby was locked inside the car WITH the keys..

Uh oh- NO BLOODY SPARE!!
Thank goodness it wasn't hot. Shade was covering the car and it was about 70 degrees out. Had it been hot, Mom would have been replacing a car window today :)
Our neighbor Rich is a Highway Patrol Officer and was walking down the street as Mom was looking for the 'jimmy'. We called Rich over and he tried as well to open the door. Nobody was panicking. AAA was on their way too.
Heaven forbid these new high tech computerized cars! It was impossible to jimmy the lock.
Toa was just sitting there smiling at us the whole time!

Next thing ya know, there's a firetruck, and 2 cop cars, AND AAA all showing up at the same time! AAA used their snazzy little air pump, popped the door open and hit the UNLOCK button and Toa was a free little boy within 30 seconds.
They were right, it DOES take a village (and fire department and police department) to raise a child :)

Yes, I took pictures on my phone to send to Ray at camp! I'm glad he chuckled...
And we made it just in time to sing HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

How scary! :( I'm glad he was okay though! But I probably would've busted a Hulk smash, and busted one of the windows! ha ha ha ha Calling AAA or even the fire department would have never clicked to me! ha ha ha.. Your too funny! Lol And Baby looked like he was just enjoying watching everyone run around! ha ha ha
haha that is too funny he was smiling the whole time, while you guys are freakin out! lol..That happened to my lil Ariana when she was a baby, and it was hot...Pulu almost broke the window, but the cops came pretty quick...so don't feel too bad, it happens to all of us! :)
That's scary!! I'm glad everything worked out ok!!
OH MAN!! I'm glad it was open quick! I remember doing that! It's a scary thing.. They seem to make a bigger deal of getting a car door open when there is a baby inside, so that's good that you had so much help!!
Good thing he is okay!! what a funny guy and no more locking babies in the car lol... my poor nephew!

LOL!! i am just like you...put it all on the blog so i can laugh about it later!!! he is so adorable and I'm so glad he was a happy camper the whole time he was in the car. such a sweet boy. and yes, it does take a village and the whole darn neighborhood too!! yay for a speedy response!! :)
I would've never thought to call the police. What a quick thinker. I would've for reals busted the window. LOL Your baby is such a good sport!!
