Soccer Boy

Toa started soccer the beginning of the month and we were so excited.

We went out and bought cleats, shinguards, socks, a soccer ball and a water bottle a few nights before.
Ray was even showing him YouTube videos of soccer games to show him what to do.

He had fallen asleep a half hour before we were supposed to leave and I did NOT want to wake him up. He is a demon child if you wake him up and he didn't get enough rest. I thought, maybe, just MAYBE he would snap out of it if we told him he was going to play soccer.

I. Was. Wrong!!!!! He fought us from the time he woke up, putting on socks, shoes and getting in the car. Then we got to the field and he fought us walking to the field and listening to his coach.
Needless to say, we left 10 minutes into 'practice' because he sat there and screamed his face off.
And he's loud.
And big.
So he looked like a 5 year old having a tantrum..
Yup, ALL EYES ON THE FEINGA FAMILY PLEASE!!!

I laugh now, but during the time, Ray and I both had steam coming out of our ears!
Competitive parents?
Poor kid! haha..

The next day was a complete 180 from the day before.
Thank the heavens!!

He did so well! We thought they were going to have games, but they actually just do routine fundamentals of warming up, stretching and soccer skills. No games.
I was sad because I've heard all the stories of my nephew Elway and his game and I was looking forward to be thoroughly entertained.

He loved it. He's so funny to watch. He's so big, they would put him with the 5 year old group and then when class started, you could tell he was 3! I told the coach he had just turned 3 in June and he laughed. I'm glad we enrolled him to go out there and learn team skills and soccer skills. It will be so fun when he actually plays!

Today they completed their 4 week course and he received a little medal! So fun for him!!

Way to go Toa!! You are so awesome....
